What: A weekend fighting homelessness When : March 28 – 30th – 7 PM to Noon Where : Saint James Episcopal Church, Bozeman Who – Youth 6th through 12th grade
Have you been looking for a way to spend your weekend and make a difference? Consider joining the Saint James Youth in a full weekend of worship and service. On Friday Night, we will be sharing a Christian Seder meal. Saturday morning, we will be getting up and spending the day in service to Habitat for Humanity of Gallatin Valley ( www.habitatbozeman.org ). Some will be working on building a house and others with a wide array of their other ventures. Saturday Night we will come back and construct cardboard box houses where we will spend the night. In this effort, we will be collecting sponsorships from people in our lives as well as St. James on Sunday Morning. Funds from this effort will go toward Family Promise, an organization which provides temporary housing to needy families ( http://www.familypromisegv.org ). On Sunday, we will attend church, have a collection for the effort, and clean up.
The cost of the weekend is $35 ( made payable to St. James ) as well as a genuine effort to collect sponsors. If the cash is an issue, just don’t worry about it. You will also need to bring: warm clothes, work clothes, shower stuff, towel, 2 changes of regular clothes, and plenty of duct tape to build your house ( boxes will be provided ). You may not bring a cell phone ( sorry ) or anything that would obviously be a bad idea ( fireworks, knives or weapons, drugs, booze ). If you parents wish to contact you over the weekend, we will be providing a list of the cell phone numbers of ALL the leaders who will be with you at all times.
The weekend will be led by the trained and background checked intern and volunteer youth staff of St. James. If other adults are interested in participating, please contact me directly at
